
This will be a moderated forum for which submissions will be either accepted for inclusion or rejected. An implicit part of the criteria for inclusion will be whether or not the voice, values, interests, aesthetic sensibilities, sense of humor (etc….) of the author are really consistent with what it means to be a BuffaloDaddy.
The question is: are you a BuffaloDaddy? To help you along – here are some BuffaloDaddy defining characteristics.
1) The BuffaloDaddy knows that his primary reason for being is to be a daddy to his Bambinos, all else is secondary.
2) The DuffaloDaddy knows that the BuffaloMama is a righteous force of nature singular in her standing above all else – but sometimes….
3) The BuffaloDaddy believes that art is life and that living an artful life is vital.
4) The BuffaloDaddy’s natural habitat includes mountains, trees, lakes, other beautiful buffalo, soft warm spaces, pitchers of beer and loud, loud tunes.
5) The BuffaloDaddy can be naturally intimidating because of his size, and or other unique physical attributes due to the stereotypes of smaller mammals on sight but is not aggressive without reason.
6) The BuffaloDaddy is at peace with the chaos and meaning inherent in the organic world and is confused and restricted by bureaucracy and technocracy.
7) The BuffaloDaddy has a large beefy heart and is generous with love and warmth but tends to move slowly when the sun is warm and the grass is tasty.
8) The BuffaloDaddy is wild and primal but considerate and harmonic.
9) The BuffaloDaddy is a walking demonstration of the pride in his ancestry and the power of the river of history.
10) The BuffaloDaddy is naturally majestic, strong, graceful, familial, communal, hearty and loves the art of Ernie Barnes, Frank Kozik, Robert Williams, Mark Dancey, Les Toil, Ralph Steadman, John Coltrane, Patsy Cline, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Neil Young, The Wilson sisters (Heart), Mastodon, The Clash, Van Halen (the original), Douglas Coupland, Chuck Klosterman, Audre Lorde, Hunter S. What gall, what daring! Since when do Ed "Big Daddy" Roth and Jack "King" Kirby not make this list? George Lucas? Cheech and Chong? Muhammad Ali? Jim Henson? Oh, Lord. I could go on for days. Let's pour ourselves a tall cold one as the list begins...
